What we treat
When a child cannot get the words out
Expressive language is what your child puts out: words, then phrases, then sentences. A child can understand everything and still say very little.
We count what is there
Words, then two-word phrases, then grammar. We start from the level your child has reached.
We give a reason to talk
A child who gets everything without asking has no reason to ask. We build in reasons.
Gestures are not a setback
Pointing and signing usually come before speech, not instead of it.
